Secrets of Adulthood: Life Lessons I Wish I’d Learned Sooner

Adulthood is full of surprises—some wonderful, some challenging, and some that make you wonder, Why didn’t anyone warn me about this? Over time, I’ve discovered a few truths about life, the kind you only learn through experience. These “Secrets of Adulthood” aren’t flashy or complicated, but they have a way of transforming the way you approach everyday challenges and joys.

In this post, I’m sharing the lessons that have shaped my perspective on everything from relationships and productivity to happiness and self-care. Whether you’re navigating a tough decision, feeling stuck in a rut, or just looking for a little inspiration, these truths might help you see things in a new light—or at least give you a good laugh along the way.

  • A hot shower and/or a nap can fix a lot of things
  • Any plan will work if you work at it
  • Be flexible
  • Being healthy isn’t a goal, it is a lifestyle
  • Have something to look forward to
  • If you can’t find something- clean up
  • It is more important to say something than to say the right thing
  • Never turn down an opportunity to use a restroom or a glass of water
  • One thing at a time
  • Sleep and water are the building blocks for lif,e and trumps everything
  • The only person I can change is myself
  • The opposite of a profound truth is also true
  • You need new friends, and you need old friends
  • You should always be able to talk about a book you are reading or a trip you are planning.
  • Your feelings are no one else’s problems
  • Fresh air helps
  • People will forget the things you did/said but not the way you made them feel.
  • Trust your gut/trust the vibes you get; energy doesn’t lie
  • Whatever you put up with, you end up with
  • When someone shows you who they are the first time, believe them
  • You never regret exercising
  • If it weren’t hard, everyone would do it. It is the hard that makes it great
